Who Visited Your Profile? What Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn Show Us

No app shows who visited your Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp profile. These networks don't hand over this list to anyone, not even to apps that promise otherwise. What does exist are specific places where the network itself shows who was there, and that's where the answer lies.

Curiosity has become bait. Apps with names like "who viewed me" or "profile visitors" ask for your login, display a list of followers randomly selected based on likes, and charge a subscription to "reveal" the rest. Some even keep your password.

Instagram: who saw the stories, not the profile.

Instagram shows who viewed each story: open the published story and swipe up. Profile visits or feed photo views don't appear anywhere, not even for professional accounts, which only receive aggregated reach numbers.

TikTok: Profile view history

TikTok has an official feature that lists who has visited your profile in the last 30 days. It's located in the privacy settings and works both ways: you only see who has also enabled the feature, and it only appears to others if yours is enabled.

LinkedIn: "Who viewed your profile"“

On LinkedIn, the list is a feature of the network itself and appears on your profile dashboard. The free account shows the most recent visitors; the complete list is available in the Premium plan.

WhatsApp and Facebook: only status updates and stories

On WhatsApp, the list of who viewed your messages only appears in your status and disappears when you or the contact turn off read receipts. The same applies to Facebook stories. Who viewed your profile picture isn't recorded on either platform.

Why "guest" apps are a scam

Instagram itself states in its Help Center that it doesn't allow anyone to track who views your profile and that third-party apps can't do that either. Anyone who gives their login credentials to one of these apps risks their account: it could be hacked or used to send spam to their followers.

If you installed an app like this, do the following:

  • Uninstall the app and change your social media password;
  • Enable two-factor authentication;
  • Review the apps and websites that have access to your account and remove any that you don't recognize;
  • If you were charged, cancel your subscription in the Play Store or App Store.

Conclusion: see who visited profile

TikTok and LinkedIn only provide a list of who has visited your profile, by decision of the platforms themselves. On Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, you can only see who viewed your stories and statuses. Any app that promises more than that is essentially replacing your password with a randomly selected name.
